Just when I think the vast majority of voters are hopelessly stupid, something makes me think again. While it’s still clear that most people do not understand the evil of excessive regulations, they know there is something about Ron Paul that would be good for the middle class. They also apparently know that Mitt Romney doesn’t care about the middle class and Romney already admitted he doesn’t care about the poor.
And on the topic of CNN being shocked by people supporting Ron Paul, see this bright college student express her opinion. The intelligent young people want Ron Paul, for good reasons!
And by the way, yes, CNN is one of the major media outlets that tries to ignore Ron Paul. Ron Paul is the real inconvenient truth!
1. He’s dead serious about real freedoms. Other politicians just talk “freedom” with no action or further explanation.
2. He actually sticks to his principles. He’s not a flip-flopper, not lying all the time to be popular for the moment like most politicians. Step back and take a good look at the other GOP candidates. Do they have a lifelong history of being genuinely pro-freedom and pro-constitution? Do you really think that just because they talk more freedom and constitution now (because it’s more popular) that they would stand by these principles in office? I want to vote for the one who stood by his principles when it wasn’t popular at all and was hated and called crazy by most. Ron Paul says and stands for what he believes, regardless of the negative fallout. What do you want, truth, or more BS?
4. He believes in questioning US foreign policy. If you don’t believe in at least questioning US foreign policy, you don’t care much about the lives and limbs of our soldiers, let alone innocent victims in the conquered territories.
I don’t know if I would agree with everything Ron Paul would do as quickly as he would have it done, but it’s worth a very serious, even aggressive debate, don’t you think? If congress and the congress with the President are getting along well, they’re not getting much done!
5. The media is ignoring him, despite his increasing success in debates and polls. If the mainstream media and political establishments hate him, he must be doing something right!
Time is short, but our course of action should be clear. Resistance to illegal and unconstitutional usurpation of our rights is required. Each of us must choose which course of action we should take: education, conventional political action, or even peaceful civil disobedience to bring about necessary changes. But let it not be said we did nothing.
I love this. This radio host was giving Mitt Romney a chance – but Romney was laughing off the issues that matter to real Americans. The host gets increasingly angry as Romney basically mocks him, Ron Paul and the need to aggressive, real change to regain some real freedoms and lower taxes. Romney seems to be making excuses to leave the interview. After he does so, the host goes on a very justified rant, calling Mitt Romney an “asshole”, saying he gave Romney a chance, but now wants to support Ron Paul instead.
Romney laughs off serious progress toward real freedom, as he plans to continue the neo-con soft-socialist agenda and young-American-slaughtering war machine.
If libertarian ideals were fully implemented, this economy would take off like a rocket! Libertarians, as I use the term, includes those in the actual Libertarian Party, such as Gary Johnson and others who stand by libertarian principles, such as Ron Paul.
That libertarian reforms would greatly boost the economy is obvious to those with enough intelligence to understand how the economy really works, but not so obvious to those who can’t get it and are brainwashed with liberal or neo-con dogma. More government molestation of business and personal activity is not the answer. Less government is!
Libertarians would eliminate all unnecessary regulations on business, thereby allowing business to develop and grow at a much faster pace. For those who can’t “put two and two together”, that means many more jobs, more raises, promotions, more stable careers and pensions.
Libertarians would eliminate all unnecessary regulations on personal activity, thereby stimulating demand and a new motivation for life for many people. This translates to more demand for more products and services, creating more jobs and improving the standard of living (as each person would pursue according to their own style – not the right or left style conformity society tries to force us into).
Libertarians would dramatically lower taxes, tax complexity and tax tyranny for business, which would be more money companies could use to hire more employees, give raises or even invest in other businesses. We use the term “tax tyranny” to mean excessive bullying by the IRS and state tax agencies that slows business activity and ultimately results in fewer jobs and lower wages.
Libertarians would dramatically lower taxes, tax complexity and tax tyranny for individuals, thereby giving people more money to improve their own lives as they see fit, and doubtless this money would better stimulate the economy than how the government would spend (waste) it.
Libertarians would have ZERO tolerance for government waste and that means many, many things! No more bail-outs, loans for certain companies, no more government blowing money on alternative energies, studies of risky behavior of homosexuals in Argentine bars, no more paying some old man to get an erection, no more corporate welfare, no more farmer welfare and perhaps even converting individual welfare to private charity (churches, organizations, etc.).
Libertarians would greatly reduce government bureaucracy, passing the savings to taxpayers. This would be a significant economic boost on it’s own!
Libertarians would relax property regulations, creating a sustained, permanent boost in the real estate industry, translating to more jobs, more freedom and more potential for the poor to afford a home and have some dignity.
Libertarians would demand sound money, audit the Federal Reserve and ensure we weren’t effectively printing extra money, like some extremely irresponsible third world country gaining temporary advantage for the government while crushing the people financially.
Libertarians would resurrect what it really means to be free, what it really means to be American, invigorating the nation with a new zeal for life and economic success.
And for those who don’t realize, Ron Paul is a libertarian who runs as a Republican as a political strategy, and because the Republican platform is a closer match to the freedoms that matter most (but obviously not a great match at all, nowadays). All freedoms matter, but if the economy collapses (entirely) from lack of economic freedom, nothing else will matter. In addition to assaults on basic freedoms with such hastily written legislation as the Patriot Act, mainstream Republicans have not even done a very good job of standing for the economic freedoms they are supposed too! Consider voting for someone no less libertarian than Ron Paul going forward. Your vote may not count toward a win, but it will count as a statement – a statement that will be harder to ignore as the Republican establishment (and Democrats) hemorrhage more and more votes!
What if… the United States of America, with the usual game between variants of Democrat and the Republican neo-cons, bring this nation to total collapse within 50 years? Weakened enough, even our military cannot be sustained with a collapsed economy and an oppressed and disillusioned population. We very well may be conquered indirectly. We may become effectively enslaved, as a colony of China, as we try to pay interest on our debts to them and it seeks more control in return. We may be conquered directly or indirectly by the ever-growing global political powers of Europe.
Whatever the type of fall, what if we had one last chance, one short window of opportunity to turn things around. Voting Democrat or neo-con is like asking “Which poison do you want, the fast-acting one (Democrat) or the slow-acting one (the compromising, freedom-yielding neo-con)?”. Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t want any poison at all.
What if… our last and only chance was to reinvent this nation simply as it was intended by the founding fathers?
What if… we bring freedom back?
What if… voting in a strong libertarian direction was the last and only hope for this nation?
What if… a libertarian running as a Republican was the realistic only way to get on the presidential ballot?
What if… Ron Paul is the only real choice to save this nation?
The current two-party system, with their two flavors of big government tyranny and dysfunction will both continue to destroy this nation in their own ways. How can you ever trust a neo-con type? They smile, look all “presidential” and say enough of the right things in their campaign, then abandon principles of liberty for political gain when in office.
Who among the candidates has been astonishingly consistent?
Who has been less of a politician and more of a principled man?
Who shows a very strong record for a genuine and unapologetic fight for freedom?
Ron Paul is our only choice. Think about it long enough and I think you’ll agree.
A new television ad points out that Ron Paul boldly supported the election of Ronald Reagan, considered radical and “unelectable” (sound familiar?) at the time, while Rick Perry eventually supported a presidential bid by Al Gore to defeat Reagan! Now, who do you trust? The one who has been more consistent for 40+ years or another neo-con?
I remember during the 2008 presidential campaigns – I was surprised and impressed by the grassroots support for Ron Paul. I had never seen such enthusiastic support for a candidate, and that support mostly being ignored by the mass media. He is hated by the liberal and GOP establishments alike, but he may be just the medicine America needs. Only Ron Paul is dead serious about freedom and about the constitution. All others lead the nation astray. Fox News repeated laughs off and/or denies the importance of Ron Paul winning in polls (even their own!). After a while, you’d think they would take him seriously.
If Ron Paul is not nominated by the GOP for 2012, they will be in deep regret. Millions, including myself, will likely vote for Ron Paul anyway, potentially killing any chance of another GOP candidate winning the election. The neo-con types have dominated America for too long. It’s time they and their supporters admit that their time is up and that judgement day is at hand.
